Carl Sparks, Managing Partner

Carl Sparks is a Managing Partner at Interlock. He previously served as CEO of Academic Partnerships (online education), CEO of Travelocity Global (online travel marketplace), President of Gilt Groupe (online apparel), and CMO at Expedia. He has also served as Senior Adviser to Bain Capital’s TMT group.

Carl was previously a public director and Audit Chair of Avis Budget Group and a public director on the boards of Vonage and Dunkin’ Brands. He currently is a public director on two NASDAQ marketplace leaders — Copart (COPART) and Cint AB (CINT). He is also on the board of Waste Connections (TSX/NYSE: WCN) and one private technology company, Plex (OTT Video, PE backed). Carl also served on the Texas Board of Trustees for The Nature Conservancy.

Carl is a graduate of Princeton University (summa cum laude) and Harvard Business School (Baker Scholar).
